Call or text (713) 667-7606
We answer our phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If your air conditioning has stopped working, call. Do not wait for a form reply.
Call us now if any of these apply
These are the situations where waiting makes the problem worse or puts someone at risk.
- Water is coming through a ceiling or running down a wall. The condensate drain has blocked and the damage is ongoing.
- You can smell burning, or you can see smoke or scorching around the unit. Switch it off at the breaker first, then call.
- There are infants, elderly or unwell people in the house and the indoor temperature is climbing.
- The breaker trips again as soon as you reset it. Repeated resets can destroy a compressor.
- You hear a loud grinding, screeching or banging from the outdoor unit. Shut it down and call.
- A commercial site is losing product, customers or trading hours.
This can usually wait until morning
We would rather tell you this than sell you an after-hours call you did not need.
- The house is warm but holding a reasonable temperature and nobody is at risk.
- One room is hotter than the rest, and the rest of the house is cooling normally.
- The system is running but seems less effective than usual, with no water, noise or smell.
- The thermostat screen is blank and the house is still comfortable. Often just batteries.
If you are not sure which category you are in, call and describe it. We will tell you straight, and that conversation costs nothing.
How quickly we can get to you
If you call in the morning, we will get to you the same day in almost every case. That includes Seabrook and the Bay Area, which are a fair drive from our base in Fulshear but are still same-day territory.
The honest exception is a day that is already full. We have a set number of technicians, and if the schedule is already booked when you call, a late request sometimes becomes first thing tomorrow. When that happens we will tell you on the phone rather than leave you waiting on a technician who is not coming.
Outside normal hours we will still come out for a genuine emergency, and we will travel as far as Galveston to do it. It simply takes longer to reach you. Whatever the distance, we make every effort to get there fast.
What happens when you call
| Step | What to expect |
|---|---|
| 1. You call or text | A person answers, day or night. Describe what the system is doing. |
| 2. We triage | We work out whether this is urgent now or safe until morning, and say so plainly. |
| 3. We schedule | Morning calls are same day in almost every case. If the day is already full we tell you on the call, rather than leaving you waiting on a callback. |
| 4. We diagnose | A NATE-certified technician tests the system properly rather than guessing. |
| 5. You get a price | A written quote before any work starts. You decide. |
What to do while you wait
A few things worth doing before the technician arrives. They can prevent further damage and occasionally fix the problem outright.
If water is dripping from a ceiling or air handler: switch the system off at the thermostat. The drain is blocked, and running it keeps producing water.
If you can see ice on the unit or the refrigerant line: set the system to OFF and the fan to ON. That thaws the coil, which has to happen before anyone can diagnose it properly. Do not chip at the ice.
If the breaker has tripped: reset it once. If it trips again, leave it off and call. Repeated resets can turn a cheap electrical fault into a compressor replacement.
If the system will not start: check the thermostat is set to COOL and the temperature is below room temperature, check the batteries, and check the condensate float switch has not tripped in the attic. These account for a fair share of no-cool calls.
While you wait for the house to cool: close blinds on the sunny side, keep interior doors open so air can move, and run ceiling fans. Fans cool people rather than rooms, so turn them off in rooms nobody is using.
Several of these are avoidable with regular attention. Our Houston maintenance schedule sets out what to check and when.
After-hours and weekend calls
We answer the phone at night, at weekends and on holidays, and we will come out for a genuine emergency.
There is a premium for after-hours work. We will tell you what it is on that call, before anyone is dispatched. What we commit to in writing here is that you are told the cost before a technician drives out, not after the work is finished.
If you are on our home maintenance plan, 10% comes off the work we carry out for you through the year, emergency repairs included.
Where we go
Castle is based in Fulshear and works across southwest Houston and the surrounding communities.
| Area | Notes |
|---|---|
| Fulshear & Cross Creek Ranch | Our home base. Newer master-planned housing, mostly attic air handlers. |
| Katy | Large service area, mix of newer builds and 1990s to 2000s systems reaching end of life. |
| Sugar Land & Richmond | Directly adjacent to our base. |
| Bellaire, West University & Memorial | Older housing stock, tighter lots, more attic access work. |
| Houston Heights | Older homes, frequent duct and airflow issues alongside repairs. |
| Seabrook & the Bay Area | Coastal air is hard on outdoor coils. Same-day service, same as anywhere else we cover. |
| Galveston | After-hours emergencies. It takes longer to get there, but we will come. |
Why people call us instead of the big names
We are family owned, licensed under TACLA #00051749C, and our technicians are NATE-certified. We hold 200 reviews on Google at a 4.9-star average, and a good number of them mention the phone being answered late at night and at weekends.
We do not buy radio or television airtime. That advertising is paid for by the customers of the companies that run it. It is not built into our price.
Frequently asked questions
Do you offer 24-hour emergency AC repair in Houston?
We answer our phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and offer same-day repair across southwest Houston. Call or text (713) 667-7606 and we will tell you honestly whether your fault needs attention tonight or can safely wait until morning.
What counts as an air conditioning emergency?
Water coming through a ceiling, a burning smell, a breaker that trips repeatedly, loud grinding from the outdoor unit, or a hot house with infants, elderly or unwell people in it. A warm house with nobody at risk is uncomfortable rather than an emergency, and usually costs less to fix in the morning.
How quickly can you get here?
If you call in the morning, same day in almost every case, including Seabrook and the Bay Area. The honest exception is a day that is already full. We have a set number of technicians, and a late call on a busy day sometimes becomes first thing tomorrow. We will tell you that on the phone rather than let you wait. For after-hours emergencies we will travel as far as Galveston, though it takes longer to reach you.
Does emergency AC repair cost more?
Yes. There is a premium for work outside normal hours. We will tell you what it is when you call, before a technician is dispatched, so there is nothing unexpected on the invoice. If you are on our home maintenance plan, 10% comes off the work.
My AC is leaking water through the ceiling. What do I do right now?
Turn the system off at the thermostat immediately. The condensate drain has blocked and running the system keeps producing water. Put something down to catch the drip and call us. If the water is collecting at the indoor unit instead, see how to clear a clogged AC drain line. This is one of the most common summer calls in Houston because most air handlers sit in the attic.
The breaker keeps tripping. Can I just keep resetting it?
No. Reset it once. If it trips again, leave it off and call. A tripping breaker usually means an electrical fault or a failing compressor, and repeated resets can turn an inexpensive repair into a very expensive one.
There is ice on my air conditioner. Is that an emergency?
It needs attention but rarely at midnight. Set the system to OFF and the fan to ON so the coil thaws, which has to happen before anyone can diagnose it. Ice usually means restricted airflow or low refrigerant, and both need a technician.
Do you handle commercial emergency calls?
Yes. We service rooftop units, packaged systems, commercial splits and server-room cooling across the Houston area, and we will come out after hours so a business does not lose a day of trade. See our commercial HVAC services.
